The rectangle tools adeptly avoids the pads. I was hoping to include them. I went through the tutorial and when it came to trying out nets, my results from gsch2pcb did not follow the tutorial. It's not clear if I add global net attributes in the schematic symbol file, and then delete the pins, how pcb is going to know pins (pads, now) are connected to what net. Right now, I have net attributes in gschem at the pin level and they are ignored by pcb. In pcb, I just see "netname: -" I am assuming if I can get the pads to have a net name, the polygon that is drawn over it will assign itself to pad and then to the net. If there are some mail archives I should be looking over, please let me know. I feel like I am the millionth person to ask this question, but I googled a few search terms and geda documentation comes up every time. I read it over and I am not seeing what I need to do between gschem and pcb to make the nets work. Hi,

I= am trying to create ground and power planes. The rectangle tools adeptly a= voids the pads. I was hoping to include them.

I went through = the tutoria= l and when it came to trying out nets, my results from gsch2pcb did not= follow the tutorial.

It's not clear if I add global net = attributes in the schematic symbol file, and then delete the pins, how pcb = is going to know pins (pads, now) are connected to what net.

R= ight now, I have net attributes in gschem at the pin level and they are ign= ored by pcb. In pcb, I just see "netname: -"

I am as= suming if I can get the pads to have a net name, the polygon that is drawn = over it will assign itself to pad and then to the net.

If ther= e are some mail archives I should be looking over, please let me know. I fe= el like I am the millionth person to ask this question, but I googled a few= search terms and geda documentation comes up every time. I read it over an= d I am not seeing what I need to do between gschem and pcb to make the nets= work.

Best,
Chris
