For ACIS on Chandra, in Viewlogic, I had slotted dual opamps with power pins on the opamp symbol. This allowed me to be clear about the rails a particular opamp used for power, important in a complicated system with multiple power rails. But Viewlogic would warn me if I did it wrong and shorted one rail to another. I don't know if I've understood you correctly, though IMO the same pin must never appear in multiple places. Never! > More recently, I’ve been using gschem with Kai-Martin-style separate power symbols for this case. And I did, once, make the mistake of choosing a slot from a component that used the wrong rails for the purpose. The result was subtle misbehavior of the fabricated circuit. My fault, but maybe the tool could help better. Well, we'll always have some trade-offs. -- Vladimir
