I finally got pcb to work on FreeBSD version 10.2 without the p= roblem described in this thread. I will test it during the next week to see= if I will be able to use it with the current configuration.

For completeness I will record what I did her= e , in case anyone runs into the same problem in the future and views this = thread.

1)= Download the latest version from the source repository using git. (i.e. gi= t clone
git://git.geda-= project.org/pcb.git pcb ; commit ref:
85abc6ef9792d8da4879cbe975537373b3c2ac30
)

2) Follow the build instructions in the pcb source code. This= is the configuration command I issued:

$ ./configure --disable-doc --disable-toporo= uter --disable-gl --disable-update-desktop-database --disable-update-mime-d= atabase

3)= Add any missing dependencies.

= Not sure if there are any other issues in the version = of pcb retrieved from the source repository, but the issue I reported was n= o longer present.

I did not have time to go through the source code and pin point t= he exact cause of the problem.

D= id you use the PCB import from gschem command? If you open your .pcb = file after importing, do you see multiple footprints of the
same name? For example smd0603.fp?

Do some look different pads and Elem= entLine lengths?

If so, something is p= robably going wrong at importing time.

Do you know how your library lists are? If the same named footprint = is in two directories, maybe it gets one, then another.
T= he libraries need to be uniquely named footprints unless only one version a= t a time is in your library search path.
