When filled (pressing the S key) it does short to everything on that layer. That is what I want to happen. Finding the S key helped me do what I wanted it to do. I still have to draw the polygon somewhere else, fill it, then move it to where I want it shorted. I could find no way of drawing it where I wanted it without having it disappear. and give me the warning I reported in an early email. So you are using polygons and trace segments on the same layer and when fil= led it will short to traces it touches?
or does it still get clearance to traces when they overlap?

I have not done that where a polygon appears with no fill yet.
