You can set the model parameters in gSchem for each component.

Have you look in your final file after processing it with Gnucap? Maybe 
there are a error in the netlist.

Too, I suggest you to read the gEDA-Howto from Stuart Brorson:

Update Gnucap, 0.35 is a too old version. In Debian we have 
"0.36~20091207-2" version. I believe you can install it on your Ubuntu 
system.
