To be honest, they were actually really amazed by the 3D rotation feature of PCB (Peter C's pcb+gl_experimental branch) and its capabilities. I could probably convince them to use gEDA if it was fully functional on Windows. Running in a VirtualBox VM might be too much burden, but I will still give it a try if it's the best way.
