PCB and gsch2pcb use these to determine the copper footprint needed for each component; without them the component cannot be added to your layout. Also, I note that your U1 was drawn on the schematic using lines and text, rather than being created as a custom symbol and added to the schematic as a symbol. The netlisters will not be able to process that kind of drawing as a symbol. As a side note, if you are trying to use the jumpers to implement a single-sided board, it's easier to just draw the schematic without them (i.e. just connect the nets as needed) and implement the jumpers using a separate layer in PCB. It's still your responsibility to put them where they're needed, but it cleans up the schematic.
