Agreed that this could potentially be a great thing to implement. This would be months down the road as there's still a few other priorities with the code I'd like to fix first. Extending support to AC97 chipsets would be awesome because that means most desktops could simply plug in a PS/2 or serial mouse and find a PCI card or use Intel 10/100 integrated if they have it.
