Now what the heck is happening! I have installed \beta\v2gnu files, but THIS time from the http:\\delorie..\beta\v2gnu url instead of the ftp:\\ delolie.. \beta\v2gnu url... and I noticed that although the version numbers are the same... that the dates on some of the files (only a few apparently) per archive, are DIFFERENT! I have tried to take screen shots of the differences between these files as files are copied over... This does suggest that the files obtainable from the http are not identical from the ftp url, or a different delorie url was used with the ftp initially. Anyways, when I now run the autoconf command from inside the gnuch, I now get a totally different response, mind you I have made no changes whatsoever to the gnuch directory I installed the gnuchess source into... f:\djgpp\gnuch>bash bash-2.05b$ autoconf Can't locate Autom4te/C4che.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /dev/env/DJDIR/share/autoconf /dev/env/DJDIR/lib/perl5 /dev/env/DJDIR/lib/perl5/site /dev/env/DJDIR/lib/perl5/site /dev/env/DJDIR/lib/perl5/site .) at f:/djgpp/bin/autom4te line 39. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at f:/djgpp/bin/autom4te line 39. bash-2.05b$ This is entirely different! Instead of just sitting there waiting for something as if it were just looping indefinitely, I now get this, slightly reformatted for better reading... I re-installed acnf259b.zip So now what is the problem please? //RadSurfer// PLEASE join us in the Freenode IRC server for the new #DJGPP and share your experiences and dreams for DJGPP in 2006 and beyond!
