Yes. most of the apps you listed have not been re-built with the DJGPP LIBC that is compatible with XP and as such I suspect that that is the problem. Bash is the big one for autconf.... Grab the updated files from the alpha directory at DJ's site. The high level URL is:- ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/alpha/ Or try a later snapshot from the following page:- http://clio.rice.edu/djgpp/win2k/main_204.htm Once you get these files please ensure that you do NOT have any old 2.03 files lurking arround in the bin directory as they may cause you problems with symlinks. 2.04 understands 2.03 and 2.04 symlinks, but 2.03 has no idea about the 2.04 symlinks and if you do come accross this then it may take a few days to sort it out. With these files I have not had any problems using autoconf etc on XP. Andrew
