FYI - adding lseek(1, 0, SEEK_END) to the beginning of the program 
will work around the bug (if you can't run from bash) on WinNT 4
and Win2K.  Thinking about how to get this into next 2.04 build.

(There are bad bugs in NT and Win2K's seek handling on the pre-opened
handles!)
