Everything is working great on a single processor PIII 667 running Win2k. Thanx to my employer I had to put it all on a CD & run it from there. But once the cd spins up, it works great. My CD was copied to a SAMBA share on a LAN server not accessible from my PIII. When running bash/emacs/gcc/less on a dual processor P4 running Win2k, response is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w [10s of seconds] or not-at-all [gcc]. grep & other utilities are very responsive when run from cmd.exe [command prompt] within the limits of LAN latency. I have noticed that, while waiting for bash or emacs to complete their startup display, or cmd/less to display file contents, I can exit the respective program & shutdown completes & the window goes away before the display completes. This is my first encounter with dual-processor WinNT/2k - is there something inherent that antagonizes DJGPP executables?
