Similar to the rN in the mini-faq, there is no obvious way (other than the date) to tell from a simtel listing. Another possibility might be to include data from a set of 4dos descriptions on the mirrored directory. You might take a look at mkindex2.btm on my site, download directory, which does just that and also preserves the original file times.
