Further, many changes in the standards are simply not compatible with older standards. GCC has command line options to honor previous standards, but sometimes it's just not possible to do it by default. Lastly, this is not something that the djgpp folks have any control over. GCC itself is managed by the GCC team (gcc.gnu.org), and they must comply with the standards defined by the C++ team (ANSI/ISO).
