I needed this hack because I am using DOS's SUBST command and this was the only way to do it. (Although there is an AUTOEXEC.NT and a CONFIG.NT file in the system32 directory, but they are only used for DOS shells and not able to run SUBST.) Or you can use the CONTROL PANEL\Administrative tools\computer management applet. Right click on Computer Management (Local), and then select Properties. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables. Here you can add your variables. Andras
