To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Reply-To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com Hello everyone; I'm also just another computer person trying to learn something useful, but it seems that right off the bat, I get stumped and hindered by what seems to be a simple problem :( Anyways, yes, I have read the readme.lst and followed whatever it said several different ways. My problem (I think) is related to the environment variables or what not, because the entire time i've tried to 'make' a program, rhide always says "Bad command or file name". First, I found out that the version of DJGPP/rhide I had wasn't compliant with Windows XP Pro (which is what I have). So I downloaded that and then followed the instructions on installing it. However, after trying to 'make' a program again, I got the same "Bad command or file name" in rhide... So then I got to searching the mail archives for about half an hour or so, and found an email that seemed to have to same exact situation as me. I looked for a reply to it though, since that's what would help me ultimately. I eventually found a reply that said WinZip messes up the directory order when unzipping the files, and that it was needed to use unzip32.exe to unzip the various files to make them function correctly. Next, I then got unzip32.exe, but I didn't know exactly how to use it, because double-clicking it wouldn't do anything. I then 'found' out a few minutes later that by right-clicking a zip file and choosing the 'open with...' feature, I was able to unzip the files that way with unzip32.exe Even after doing all of this stuff, the 'bad command or file name' message in rhide still shows up. For more info, this is how the environment variables are like: the DJGPP variable- C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV the Path variable- C:\DJGPP\BIN (along with other things that were there already) Is there a simple solution to my problem I hope? Thanks for reading all of this and in advance for giving me an answer :) -Eugene C. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sign up for SBC Yahoo!
