Just _try_ writing to that list, and see whether you get help. Who knows, perhaps, contrary to your expectations, you will get some useful advice. What do you have to lose? It's really frustrating to try to help you, only to see each advice being rejected on purely theoretical grounds, without even giving it a chance. The suggestion to try other forums was given because apparently no one here knows enough about Allegro and Cygwin. And btw, most mailing lists don't require a subscription for you to be able to post there. If you don't want to use a real address, there are archives where you can read responses with a Web browser.
