You had better re-think how, exactly, you did this "replacing" operation. Some of your problems may well be caused by remnants of the old compiler disturbing the operation of the newer one. It's strongly recommended to completely remove the old compiler, in particular, before you un-zip the new one instead of just unzipping the new package hoping it'll replace all the important files.
