Mail, news, whatever. Replying to spam does nothing to stop it, but does create extra traffic and messages that need to be dealt with. IMHO people who reply to spammers - and end up sending messages to everyone except the spammers - are just as bad as the spammers themselves. Like I've said many times before, either reply privately or just hit delete, but please don't send to everyone.
