I like the fact it is coded in "C" as I find the code and examples to be very easy to grasp (easier at least) then some C++ gui's. The only__SERIOUS__ problem that I note is that under MSDOS6.22/4DOS I find that the mouse movement to be VERY SLUGGISH.... when I run the DEPUI demo's in a Win95 DOSshell, I find that SOMETIMES the __Colors__ are very wrong, _but_ the mouse movement is perfectly normal..... PLEASE tell me why the mouse is sluggish in MSDOS6.22/4DOS only mode..... and HOW DO I FIX IT ?!?!? Is this purely an Allegro 113 problem? Although he says that he does not like Icons, I would love to see the attention of a Button Bar (tool bar) added to this very fine GUI package. Also, I would like some of the Demo's to show precisely how to add BMP and/or PCX images to Dialog boxes (or please add this feature). It would be nice to have SPLASH SCREENS; and to simply have small pictures included in the background, or at strategic places in Dialog boxes. An ABOUT_BOX for example could show a photo of the creater of an application using DEPUI..... things like this. The only other thing that I was disappointed about was trying to compile the DEPUI library for Borland 5.02. His PRJ file would not work in the 5.02 IDE... so how do I convert a Borland 3.x PRJ to a 5.02 IDE or MAKE file? My opinion is there should of been a Borland MAKEFILE and not just the PRJ file... MAKEFILE's are easier to edit (they are not binary like PRJ's) Finally: Who else is using DEPUI ??????? Wanna exchange notes and ideas with me? Would you like to help me get the Borland 5.02 Library working? Borland 5.02 16-bit MSDOS applications are very much alive and well around here.
