But when I try to assemble the simple hello.c program that is given in most programming books I get a error from rhide to the effect. Compiling: hello.c installation problem, cannot exec 'as". No such file or directory (ENOENT) There were some errors. I looked in the faqs and at section 6.4 an 8.2. There is said that gcc could not find the directories of the assmebler and other items the gcc needs. I HAVE install djgpp and all other items from the zip picker in my c:\djgpp directory. When I look at djgpp.dev I see the following lines. DJDIR=%:/>DJGPP% and further on : gcc] COMPILER_PATH=%/>;COMPILER_PATH%%DJDIR%/bin LIBRARY_PATH=%/>;LIBRARY_PATH%%DJDIR%/lib I notice the / instead of the MS-DOS \ for directory paths. Could this be the source of the problem. Was this djgpp.env file written with unix/linux path symbols in mind???
