DJGPP programs can use long filenames, there (albeit with the occasional new bug strewn in by your friendly supplier in Redmond, WA, U.S. of A., it seems). The error '-1' shown by make means that it the command failed even before it started (usually because the programs wasn't found)... Did you check what 'set' displays in the DOS Box right before/after you compile?
