GNU Bash is a Unix-style command interpreter (or shell). It has many more features than the standard shell that comes with the various versions of DOS and Windows. Features geared toward interactive use include command line editing, command history, aliases, and prompt expansion. Programming features include additional variable expansions, shell arithmetic, and a number of variables and options to control shell behavior. ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bsh204b.zip bsh204.zip contains the binary along with documentation in Info and Man formats. ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bsh204d.zip bsh204d.zip contains the Bash manual in HTML, Postscript, and DVI formats. ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bsh204s.zip bsh204s.zip contains the Bash source code. Changes since Bash 2.03: * SYSROOT and PATH_SLASH no longer function. * The path used by 'command -p' is now '/dev/env/DJDIR/bin'. * /usr is no longer treated specially. See readme.dos, CHANGES, COMPAT and NEWS for more changes. But please ignore the fourth item that is listed in readme.dos as changed since 2.03. An update will fix this typo. Please direct any further discussions about this port to the comp.os.msdos.djgpp discussion group or to its e-mail gateway djgpp AT delorie DOT com. Mark E.
