To support all these (and other) features adequately on every OS, the CD actually has 2 ports of each package: the DJGPP port and the Cygwin port. The former should be used on DOS, Windows 9X/ME, and DOS emulators such as OS/2 and DOSEmu, the latter on native MS-Windows from Windows 95 and up. Here's my real reason for replying: Will there be Mingw ports? If not, why? Is Mingw not approved by the FSF due to its dependence on MS libs? Just curiosity. All 3 have their own distinct advantages. And, so, I have all 3. (Wish I didn't need to, but... It _is_ kinda cool to have 3 different gcc versions compiling at once. That impresses the geekiest of friends... ;) Anyway, good answer (as always). ;) Sometimes, I wonder how you can find out so much info and still have time for posting... OK, it's now 1am. I should sleep now and quit filling the group with nonsense. ;) - --Matt - -- Matt Lewandowsky matt DOT l AT techie DOT com 877-225-7490 PGP Key ID: 0x1D3A6BA7 URL: http://www.greenviolet.net (Web page only up when I'm online) "... one of the main causes of the fall of the Roman Empire was that, lacking zero, they had no way to indicate successful termination of their C programs." -- Robert Firth -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 6.5.8 for non-commercial use Comment: Key ID: 0x1D3A6BA7 iQA/AwUBOhT2j+oMko8dOmunEQKaPgCcDWEjhBntDv3JinbzkZAesk8sURgAn0If 1UwHn/13ScrZp756IZ16YTfB =oj3F -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
