If you want the compiler to use the Unixy sbrk algorithm, you need to rebuild the compiler Alternatively, you could edit the compiler's binary with a hex editor and change the contents of the address where __crt0_startup_flags is stored. But that requires that someone who built GCC tells you what that address is.
