You should *never* have to do that manually. This may be a sign that either your DJGPP installation doesn't work at all, yet, or you mixed DJGPP programs with programs belonging to some other GCC port to Windows or DOS (MinGW32, Cygwin or whatever), leading to problems with passing around of long command lines.
