Upgrade.  At the Allegro home page:
  http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/
choose Work in Progress and get all3933.zip that works on both
DJGPP and MSVC.

Haven't tried it.  Allegro 3.9.3x is pretty stable, but the Win32
version has some problems with buggy Windows 2000 video drivers.

Allegro 3.9.33 is now mostly `const' correct.
