I looked up Allegro a few months ago when you referred to it, >saw that it was a program that had been ported to a half-dozen variants >of Unix 4-5 years ago. I was referring to the fact that Allegro-based programs have such a huge potential audience: {PC|MS|DR}DOS, Wintendo 95/98/ME, Windows NT 4/2000, BeOS (partial support; no sound yet), and many eunuchs systems (at least FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, and Solaris). I'd say at _least_ 95% of Intel-based PC market share. A Mac port probably wouldn't be that _hard_; it's just that nobody has submitted a System Driver for the Mac OS. Here's the Allegro stack: --------------------------- application (e.g. Vitamins) --------------------------- Allegro common code --------------------------- Allegro System Driver --------------------------- Host operating system --------------------------- Hardware --------------------------- -- Damian Yerrick "I refuse to listen to those who refuse to listen to reason."
