I have really enjoyed the "Bracketing: A Matter of Style" WAR, since i sort of helped start it. I would also have to say that I totaly agree with Eli and all the comments that he has made regarding this issue. You don't have to give your program to someone else to expierience the autoindent using tabs and spaces problem. Consider my situation: My 2 comps at home, the Nework installation of DJGPP on the netowork at school used for teaching comp-sci, my laptop, the installation in my account on the university network (stupid University only has VC++ installed), etc. Do you really think I have taken the time to synchronize the settings? (I wish!!). Also when running code through a pretty printer (such as a2ps as I mentioned in a reply about printing source code) you have to make SURE there are no tabs, as it mucks them up, and gives the "screwed up" effect that Eli mentioned. A real pain in the but, especially when you are at the university printing on the Postscript printer in the department where you work, and it is 10:49, and the other building where your code has to be handed in closes at 11:00, and there are major tab indent problems. (The students here have complained many, many times about why the science building closes so early, but they are too cheap to hire mor security guards!) Andrew P.S. Eli, just wondering if you figured out what's causing that page fault yet? I found out late last week that I have to present this thing on May 31st 2000.
