Yes I said it in a light mood ;-) but one habit I, and I'm sure many other people have developed is that after typing in come code I find that I like running the compiler to see whether there are any syntax errors like missing semicolons etc, It's a nice thing to do and it certainly helps a lot especially if the compile time is short. Yes the Linux Kernel (60MB of source) comes in to mind, but then even the kernel and the modules etc are compiled in about 5 minutes in a K7 500.
