I think that you are meaning that the VGA register based method of detecting the vsync won't work with all vesa based implementations. This is correct _BUT_ AFAIK Allegro uses the VESA based method of obtaining info about vsync etc.. so this should not be a problem as reagrds to Al's usage of the Allegro code. But I am curious about what exactly Al meant by "some more code to handle the flipping" as it might be this bit of code that is causing the flicker etc..
