Your hints led me to reinstall all the packet. A case of misinterpretation. Now even Rhide's help files are operative__they weren't. With the new installation, any options that might be set through Rhide Options menu are in their original status. I won't tamper with it anymore. As regards Mr. Zaretskii concern about what the SET command showed, I say that there is only one difference: the absence of the caracters "%path%". After typing "set", DOS returned: path=c:\djgpp\bin; djgpp=c:\djgpp\djgpp.env But the the caracters do exist in Autoexec.bat where I typed: set PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN;%PATH%; set DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV; Now there is another error. Ok, ok, I'll read FAQ again before submiting any question. Thanks, J.R.Moraes
