I'm new to the NG and C++ programming. Hope anyone could answer a couple of stupid questions. I just installed DJGPP files in C:\DJGPP folder and add "set PATH=..." lines in my AUTOEXEC.BAT as directed in installation instruction. I used "Zip File Picker", so I got all the necessary files and specific instruction for Win98. Then some questions have arisen. First, I tryied to read readme.1st, but couldn't figure out what application to choose to open the file. What kind of files are *.1st and *.faq?? Next, I decided to try "hello, world" program anyway. I couldn't find any instruction on RHIDE but could start it from MS-DOS prompt. And, this is weird, but when I key \(backslash), I can't enter \. Instead curser jumps forward, just like when you "TAB + Shift" in wordprocessor. Because I can enter \ in MS-DOS prompt and qbasic, I doubt something's wrong with my keyboard. Does this happen to sound familiar? I'd appreciate any advice. Regards, knoriko
