Try enabling 32-bit _file_ access, not to be confused w/ 32-bit _disk_ access. Then you probably won't need smartdrv anymore, and you'll be better off w/o it. (If this works, then make sure to remove it from config.sys {double buffering}) Only use it when in PLAIN OLD DOS, No windoze, no dos window, etc. BTW, 32-bit file access is only available on Windows 3.11 and WfW 3.11.
