If a Sound Card is Sound Blaster compatible, it generally sets the BLASTER environment variable to its compatible values. You can see whether the BLASTER variable has been set by going to the dos prompt and typing SET and pressing enter. If there is a variable looking something like "BLASTER=A240 I10 D3" (It need not be the same values, this was just an example from my SB compatible soundcard) then MAXI Sound is SB compatible and if the settings are correct you can setup allegro by using the settings above (A is port,I is the interrupt,D is the DMA setting). BTW when you are running under Windoze some PNP soundcards only set the SB compatible environmental settings when you "Restart in MSDOS mode" so you might see wether this is the case.
