What I have is a batch file called develop.bat which uses the Windows choice utility to form a little menu system (choice takes single key input it and returns an ERRORLEVEL for different keys which you specify as arguments to it). I then edited my preferences for command.com (or bash in my case), to run the develop.bat file every time each of them is run. No mess no fuss.
