I think there is a CD of GNU software available that includes DJGPP. I can't remember what it's called, but have a look here: http://www.gnu.org/ Alternatively, Salvador Eduardo Tropea (SET) prepared a CD with all the DJGPP packages on it a while ago (a year?). I don't know if he's done a more recent version of this, but it may be worth contacting him. I think he reads this newsgroup ;) > I am a DJGPP programmer and I am very happy with it, that is why I want > to include it on the distribution in order to make it available to all ( > locally ). The last time I made a copy of the DJGPP archive, it was ~200MB in size. I guess without sources this is 1/4 to 1/2 the size. > I am a little confused about OPENDOS. OpenDOS is now DR-DOS. There is a trial version, but I think you must pay to use it. In other words, I don't think it is free for non-commercial use. I tried to download it a while ago, but didn't for this reason. So, redistribution is probably out of the question as well. > There is a DRDOS distribution for DOSEMU that is aparently free ( > complete ) but no redistributable, I revisited the page and it is > changed, it doesn't have more information, just a download link. > someone can explain me its licence ? I think the dosemu people currently prefer FreeDOS - see http://www.freedos.org/ . I think this is distributed with FreeDOS sometimes. I downloaded it the other day, but I have yet to try it. The basic distribution is about 4MB, which is compact. I think you will be able to fit DJGPP + Cygwin + FreeDOS onto a CD. This CD sounds useful. If you successfully prepare it, could I have a copy? I wonder what the easiest way is of getting it from Columbia (= .co domain?) to the United Kingdom.
