I had exactly the same problem when I installed emacs recently. Add the following to your path: c:\djgpp\gnu\emacs\bin This is described in the section 'Getting Started' in c:\djgpp\gnu\emacs\readme.dos. I missed it the first time round too ;) Hope that helps.
