Well as the person that ported many a GNU package to MS-*DOZE, I suppose it's easy to think he's paid by Microsnoft. But as far as I know he works for a company called Elta not Microsnoft. Eli, "trolldom" was probably not meant to be offensive. It probably (somewhat erroneous) derived from the verb trolling which in news is posting potential flameable material to get somebody to bite.
