I'm using (as far as I know) the latest version of DJGPP, this happened before
I reinstalled allegro, so that wasn't the case
I suspect it might be allegro, unless I hear other people got it working on dos
just fine (under allegro 3.11)...

Well I didn't actually check how much free memory I have, but I have 128 megs
total, if you are talking about conventional memory it's about 585k...

If no one else offers any answers I will post my source code.  (although i'm
sure i'm doing everything normally, although there could be something i
overlooked)
