(i would like to be able to play sound in my programs :) Been there, done that... Did you compile the "setup" utility? You'll need it. Compile it, run it and choose to specify your digital card settings. My SB Live Value card is set at SB16, quality 1, freq 22727, port 220, IRQ5, DMA 5. For a MIDI device, choose the MPU at default settings. AWE doesn't work. Try tinkering around with the settings and use the test to make sure you don't get the static. Save and keep the generated "ALLEGRO.CFG" and put it with your compied program. SB16 support is horrible, and the updated windows drivers don't do a thing. Next, open the file CHANGES in Allegro directory and do a search on "Live". This will tell you why support is so bad. -- DeHackEd No emails please, the address is fake.
