Yes, I do a lot of Perl stuff some using Tk. I've never really used Perl together with C, but you definately can though! You can also (with some drawbacks) compile Perl progams into C and do all kinds of other wonderous stuff. I would recommend compiling Perl yourself as it can be a hastle until you actually know a fair bit about Perl. Best to just download a binary from www.petes-place.com or www.activestate.com (The first is a "pure" build of Perl, while the second uses a more enhanced "Perl Object" written in C++, but it won't support threading).
