Unfortunately, I must agree; Mingw32/EGCS runs straight out of the box. For some time now I have been using RSXIDE as a front end to Mingw32, and although, among other things, the Makefile must be modified by hand, this combination is the most user friendly procedure for writing Windows programmes that I have found. More details are given at http://home.wxs.nl/~pdavis/cversion.htm; if this isn't enough, let me know. Peter Davis Zeist The Netherlands.
