I know how to improve it. Make it so it's not required reading for everyone.

Don't get me wrong. I've read the whole FAQ from top to bottom more than
once and it is an invaluable reference. But if I just wanted to get
something to compile, I'd be spitting chips if I had to sift through a 10858
line text file.
