I have a sound card that is detected by Allegro as a Sound Blaster Pro which is an 8-bit sound card. I checked the sound card and I found out that the sound card is Sound Blaster Pro and Windows Sound System compatible. Because Allegro detects my sound card as an 8-bit Sound Blaster Pro, I can not use 16-bit sound or samples in my programs. Will Allegro support that Windows Sound System because my sound card that came with my computer that I brought has a Crystal Semiconductors sound card which supports Sound Blaster Pro for 8-bit and Windows Sound System for 16-bits. It's true, I own a Hewlett Packard Computer which uses this crazy sound card configuration. Will Allegro support the Windows Sound System because this is the only way that I can use 16-bit samples when using Allegro.
