Isn't related with running the editor in a window or in full screen? Same for 2, also: isn't it related to the video mode? I know some buggy Win95 drivers wrongly virtualize the VGA registers and fails to show the cursor when you use 90x30 or a similar mode. With enough details I can add information to the FAQ.
