To the best of my (imperfect) knowledge, you can't. The secondary card absolutely *has* to be a mono / hercules one. That's because these cards have memory layouts completely separate from those of all the color cards (CGA, EGA, VGA, and up), so you don't get any conflicts. There used to be some TSENG ET3000 or ET4000 cards that could be switched to 'hercules hardware compatibility mode', or something like that, I think, but your Trident won't help you a bit, there.
