You need to make sure you have high memory available. Exactly how this is achieved I only have some vague ideas of. Try changing your config.sys so that it looks something like this in the beginning: DEVICE=c:\windows\himem.sys DOS=high,umb DEVICE=c:\windows\emm386.exe ram noems I can't remember the meaning of the EMM386 parameters "noems" and "ram", but I think you'll have to change that.
