It does eventually get to the point :-) I recently downloaded RSXNTDJ and used George Foot's method to install it (uses only a specs file to tell gcc what to do with the -Zwin32 option, and tells gcc where to find all the RSX libraries and headers etc..). This seemed easiest, as it didn't require any changes to the djgpp.env file, no new environment variables for the autoexec.bat, and it's easy to put back the original specs file. Anyway, I know people have had great trouble installing RSXNTDJ before, so I was cautious. I backed up my current specs file and replaced it with George Foot's specs file (with some abvious modifications, such as directory names) knowing that it was for an earlier version of gcc than I currently have (I have 2.8.1 at the moment). This didn't work, gcc spat at me when I tried to use that specs file. So, being the adventurous, non-newbie programmer I am, I sat for 15 minutes trying to almalgamate my current 2.8.1 specs file with George Foot's one. GCC accepted this when I ran gcc -v, but gave some impressive errors when compiling. Seeing as I have no idea about the specs file format, I was bound to make mistakes. Has someone more experienced with the specs file succeeded in making George Foot's 2.7.1 version compatible with 2.8.1? If so, I'd like to have a copy :-) Thanks, -- Johan Venter ICQ 3643877 Visit "The TPU DJGPP Interest Group": http://surf.to/djgppig
