I started to try it, and for me it's very convenient! Nevertheless I strongly recommend PE/COFF for your OS as M$ uses. You will get compatibility automatically!!! And you won't be compiler-dependent - compile with Watcom, Borland or... M$ VC++ :-) You won't be OS-dependent either. If you are not sure - research PE-format, I have small pdf on this topic...
